What is an aquarium bubbler?

An aquarium bubbler is a small device that is attached to an air pump. Inside the pump is an electromagnet that creates vibration in a rubber diaphragm inside the bubbler.

Visible bubbles

Salt creep

Some fish species, such as bettas, come from environments where the water is still or even stagnant. Those species can easily become stressed if placed in a tank where the water is very lively. Stress can compromise the fishes’ immune system, leaving them open to attack by bacteria or parasites.

So, don’t introduce an aquarium bubbler to a tank that contains fish or invertebrate species that originate from still waters.
